While Paris, London and New York are much talked about when it comes to shopping, shopping in Italy is by no means inferior. Milan may be the crowned jewel in the Italian fashion scene but Tuscany takes the place as the shopping hotspot. Name any major label or fashion brand and you would find it here. Tuscany hosts three major shopping hubs, namely the Valdiciana Outlet Village, The Mall and Barberino Designer Outlet.
• Valdichiana Outlet Village is in Arezzo. More than 140 shops are located in a complex that is just as enticing with its architecture as the brands are with their designs. The Village has almost all popular Italian brands and many international brands of repute. You would be looking at Conte of Florence, Enrico, Replay, Coveri, Benetton, Sisley, Puma, Fornarina, Bata and Bassetti among others. The Village is also particularly known for its discounts. Most stores will offer you anywhere from 20% to more than 60% discount almost throughout the year. Valdiciana Outlet Village hosts every type of store, from home furnishings to shoes, garments to accessories. The complex also hosts bars, beauty center, kid’s playground, restaurants, library and a tourist office.
• The Mall is in Florence. It is one of the oldest shopping hubs of its kind. It is also the most famous. You can get brands like Armani, Gucci, Ferragamo, Valentino, Cavalli and Tod’s. You would also get international fashion designers like Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Yves Saint Laurent. A tour of Italy or especially of Tuscany would be incomplete without shopping at The Mall. If you are on a honeymoon in Italy, then nothing can be a better manifestation of pampering than to splurge a little at these stores. The stores do offer considerable discounts but even then the prices are a tad northward so you must have enough in your wallet to satiate your cravings.
• The Barberino Designer Outlet is also in Florence. It is often pitted against The Mall in regards to popularity, inventory and prices. There are more than a hundred shops at the Barberino Designer Outlet selling clothes, shoes, electrical appliances and many other products, including chocolates. You would get some of the most popular brands like Prada, Furla, D&G, Polo Ralph Laurent, Lacoste, Calvin Klein, Belstaff, Adidas, Guess, Puma, Pinko, Coccinelle, Lagostina, Pupa, Borimoli and Malboro Classics Docksteps among others.
