Think Rome has the only ancient treasures in the region of Lazio? Think again. Outside the city, you will find the Baths of Caracalla, the Via Appia Antica, the ruins of Ostia Antica and the Catacombs. You will even find a bit of the Vatican outside of Rome at the Pope’s summer home in Castel Gandolfo. Lazio borders the Mediterranean, boasting sea resorts including Capalbio and San Felice Circeo.
