You will start your journey with a private driver will meeting you at the Bari airport and takeing you straight to your hotel in Alberobello. Once you are checked into your 3-star accommodations, take in the atmosphere and enjoy your first night in the city! Today is a day to relax and get over a bit of jet-lag. In the afternoon you will meet your tour host and enjoy a welcome briefing where you will learn the details of the next days and be able to ask any questions you may have about the upcoming tour program, then you will enjoy a lovely welcome dinner.

Today is a day to explore and learn about the beautiful landscapes of Apulia. After your breakfast at the hotel you will board your coach and begin you journey to visit some of the most important towns in the area. First on the program today is Locorotondo and Cisternino. Locorotondo is considered one of the most lovely towns in Italy and you will be taken there to explore, take some great photographs and enjoy the historic center of the town. The architecture of Locorotondo is truly baroque and you will get a sense of what life was like in this amazing hilltop town. After your visit you will continue on to visit Cisternino which dates back to the Middle Palaeolithic period 200,000 to 45,000 years ago. Today Cisternino is full of wonderful sights and sounds and the famous small white houses with pointed “Truli” roofs. Photographs are around every corner in this breathtaking little village. In the afternoon you will enjoy a lovely wine and food experience which features the local wines and dishes that come from this area. After you have enjoyed a lovely meal, you will return to Alberobello where you will have the remainder of the day and evening free to explore and relax.
Enjoy your fresh espresso at breakfast then depart for your first location today; Ostuni. This amazing village is located over 700 feet above sea level and the crown jewel of the town is the 15th century Roman Gothic Cathedral. The church is truly a sight to see that will amaze you in every way. You will have plenty of time to learn about this amazing structure and take some memorable photographs. Don’t forget to visit the amazing ancient gates and Aragonese walls of this impressive village. Next you will travel 50 miles outside Bari to Polignano, a seaside town which many consider to be the oldest town in the entire region and was occupied by the Huns and Normans to name a few. You will have free time to explore and enjoy this seaside town. Then continue to the village of Monopoli which is known for its streets that have homes and churches next to one another in rows. Explore the small alleyways and streets as you have lots of time to wander. Return to Alberobello in the late afternoon and you will have the evening free. Overnight in Alberobello.
After you enjoy breakfast you will check out and enjoy the ride through the countryside toward Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast. Along the way you will stop in the UNESCO heritage city of Matera which is the 3rd oldest city in the world with over 10,000 years of heritage. The town is full of limestone rock called Sassi rock which the locals used to carve caves and waterways. You will have free time for lunch and to explore the amazing Duomo church. You will continue on to Sorrento where you will arrive in the late afternoon. Check into your hotel and relax a bit. You have the evening free to explore the cobble stone streets of Sorrento for dinner on your own and free time. Overnight in Sorrento.
You will have a full day tour of Amalfi & Ravello and Minori. Today is a truly special experience as you will get a beautiful view of this UNESCO area and the towns of Ravello, Minori and Amalfi, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the history of Amalfi, the Maritime Republics, as well as visit an excellent “limoneto”, a cliff adorned with thriving lemon trees. After Amalfi, you will travel to Ravello, where artists, writers, and musicians, such as Richard Wagner, flocked to and composed famous works. Ravello is also famous for its age-old villas dating back centuries. Minori is where you will get to taste the famous Sal de Riso which is a sweet pastry that is famous on the Amalfi Coast. Return to Sorrento for free evening on your own.

Pompeii is known for its excavated ruins that embody historical significance. You will stop here en route to late morning by private coach. Pompeii was known for its ideal climate and scenery, serving as a getaway for Roman elites. Now, it is famous for the civic buildings that remain there today after hundreds of years. Among these include the House of Mysteries, home to historical murals; the Surgeon’s House; the House of Faun and the Chaste Lovers, where you will find celebrated artworks. When in Pompeii, you will indeed notice the graffiti-covered walls of most buildings throughout the city. These are a testimony to the public reaction to historical political elections. Your tour is followed by a light lunch and wine tasting, which will be on the Vesuvio Volcano. Here, you will enjoy a stunning view of the entire Gulf of Naples with Capri, Ischia, and small villages on the coastline. Return to Sorrento for lunch (paid locally) and free evening on your own.

Today is your day to relax and sleep in or get up early and explore the other parts of the city. You may want to take an optional trip to Capri for the day or just sit and people watch, the choice is yours! Tonight you will enjoy a lovely farewell dinner.
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Naples airport or train station. We can assist you with extending your trip to other parts of Italy or Europe.
