Day 1 (Saturday): Arrival in Catania

This 8-Day Sicily tour starts on a Saturday in Catania, the ancient gateway of Sicily, and ends on a Saturday in Taormina.

We are excited to invite you to embark on an 8-day Sicilian Delights adventure with Italy4Real! You’ll enjoy the sights with your expert local guide, who will introduce you to Sicily in a way you will remember forever.

This guided tour adventure is carefully balanced with free time on your own to take in the beauty and magic of each stop on the tour.

Whether this is your first time exploring Sicily or if you are a return traveler, you will be captivated by the history, culture and scenery of this incredible island!

🇮🇹 Welcome to Sicily! 🇮🇹

Once you arrive in Catania, you’ll travel independently to your comfortable 4-star hotel, carefully selected for its convenient central location. After you check-in, you will have time to relax after traveling and perhaps enjoy a light snack and glass of wine while settling in and preparing for the adventures ahead.

On your first evening, you will meet up with the travel group for a casual welcome dinner at the hotel. It’s the perfect chance to get to know everyone, chat about the itinerary we have planned and just look forward to the week ahead. Here’s to starting an amazing adventure with some great food and even better company! 🥂

And don’t forget… while touring, you’ll wake up every morning to enjoy a lovely buffet breakfast served at your hotel! It’s the perfect way to start each day of adventure.

Day 2 (Sunday): Siracusa

After your lovely buffet breakfast served at your hotel, we will set off to explore the archaeological treasures and baroque beauty of Siracusa.

Situated on Sicily’s southeastern coast, Siracusa is where ancient history meets seaside charm. With a blend of ancient ruins, elegant piazzas, and seaside views, Siracusa offers a captivating journey through time.

We’ll explore the Neapolis Archaeological Park, including:

the famous Greek Theater
the Roman Amphitheater
the Latomie of Paradise
the Ear of Dionysius

Later, we’ll stroll through Ortigia, the small baroque old city center of Siracusa, visiting the stunning Cathedral, the legendary Arethusa’s Fountain and the Temple of Apollo.

After enjoying a light “street food” lunch in the center of Ortigia, you’ll have a bit of free time to explore at your leisure and do some shopping before returning back to your hotel in Catania.

The evening is yours to explore the nightlife and enjoy dinner on your own in the city center. 🍽️

Day 3 (Monday): Catania - Ragusa

After your morning coffee and buffet breakfast at your hotel, start your day with a laid-back walk through Catania’s famous fish market, “A Piscaria”; one of the liveliest and most authentic places in Sicily. Visiting the market isn’t just about buying seafood, it’s about experiencing Sicilian culture and it is the perfect spot to soak up the local flavor and see the city in action.

Next, we’ll depart to Ragusa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The historic old town, Ibla, is a masterpiece of baroque architecture. Renowned for cheese production, we’ll have a chance for a light lunch tasting of artisan cheeses and local specialties. It’s a truly authentic experience where every bite tells the story of Ragusa’s heritage and culinary pride. Then, we’ll spend the afternoon exploring Ragusa and the historical centre by baroque train, admiring stunning baroque palaces and churches.

To wrap things up, we’ll return to your hotel to enjoy free time to relax at the swimming pool or spa, followed by a delicious dinner in the hotel. 🍽️

Day 4 (Tuesday): Ragusa - Agrigento - Marsala

Following a delicious and satisfying buffet breakfast at your hotel, today’s adventure begins with a drive to the hillside town of Agrigento, where we will learn about and explore the stunning Valley of the Temples – a truly awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This is a highlight for visitors, packed with history and awe as we stroll the nearly perfectly preserved Temple of Concordia and the Temples of Juno and Heracles. Walking among these ruins feels like stepping into history.

You’ll have free time in the afternoon to enjoy a casual lunch on your own or for more exploring before we depart.

After that, we’ll proceed to Marsala on the western coast and get settled in at a perfectly restored and relaxing countryside wine resort. Here, we will have the opportunity to visit the cellar and learn about winemaking, followed by a wine tasting and light dinner at sunset. Cheers to a great night! 🥂

Day 5: Salt Route, Erice, and Palermo - Cultural Immersion 🧂

We’re starting the day with a scenic drive to Erice along the “Salt Route”, where you’ll pass by salt pans and old-school windmills—perfect for a few photos. 📸

In Erice, stroll through the medieval streets and don’t miss out on tasting some amazing local pastries. 🥐 Later, we’ll depart to Monreale’s and explore the stunning Cathedral—it’s definitely a sight to see. 🏛️ We’ll then proceed to Palermo, where we’ll stay the night. Enjoy free time for shopping and dinner and get ready for more adventure tomorrow!

Day 6: Monreale, Cefalù, and Taormina - Discovering Coastal Gems 🌊

🌅 Morning in Palermo, then Cefalù, Messina and Taormina! 🌅

We’re starting the day with a breakfast walking tour of Palermo, stopping at the famous Cathedral. After that, we’ll head over to Cefalù for a relaxed walking tour, where you can wander the charming streets, shop and check out the Cathedral. You’ll have free time to explore and enjoy lunch on your own.

In the afternoon, we’ll head via Messina to Taormina, where you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace and enjoy dinner of your choosing. 🍽️ A great mix of exploring and unwinding!

Day 7 (Friday): Mount Etna - Taormina

Good morning! Today’s adventures begin after you’ve been served a lovely buffet breakfast at your hotel.

Our excursion today takes us on a drive to Mount Etna, where your guided tour includes exploring the highest active volcano in Europe! We will ascend to 1800 meters to the Sylvester Craters and enjoy the spectacular scenery over the Ionian Sea. On the way back, we will stop at a local winery on the eastern slopes to visit a cellar, where will will taste different local wines accompanied by light snacks.

In the afternoon, we’ll head back to Taormina, “The Pearl of the Ionian Sea”, where you’ll enjoy leisure time for shopping or strolling and time on your own. Taormina is endlessly fascinating with breathtaking views of Mount Etna, the ancient Greek theater, charming streets and timeless elegance. Dinner is at your leisure before returning to your hotel for the evening.

Day 8 (Saturday): Departure from Taormina - Farewell

This morning you will enjoy a final buffet breakfast with your travel group at your hotel in Taormina before departing.

Optional departure transfers to the airport or your next destination mark the end of the tour.
