Overview

One of most well-known active stratovolcanoes is Mount Etna. Located on the east coast of the island of Sicily. The mountain is still active but yet you can still enjoy a trip to the top to see it up close and personal. Italy4Real has local guides and transportation to safely take you to the highest point on Mt. Etna. The views from the top are amazing and you are surrounded by volcanic rock which makes the area look like a moonscape. This tour is a must when you are traveling through Sicily. Also, Etna is the tallest active volcano in Europe with an amazing height of over 10,920 feet (3,329 m). Being an active volcano means that depending on when you visit you may get to see its normal plume of smoke and ash.
