Overview

There is a tradition in Venice that goes back to the beginning of the cities creation; the aperitivo. This is as much a part of a Venetian’s life as the morning’s cup of coffee.

The nightly tradition of going to your favorite little wine bar and having a selection of tasty treats called Cicchetti while enjoying a few glasses of local wine is something every visitor to Venice should experience.

The trick to a good aperitivo experience in Venice is to find the right wine bar. Unfortunately Venice is 100% tourism which means that many of the restaurants and wine bars cater to tourists and not locals so the selection, service and experience is quite different than if you lived in the city.

This is why we include a local who knows Venice and is also an expert in the local vintages. They will meet you and take you to one of the best local wine bars in the city and you will have the next hour and a half to enjoy three local wines and a lovely selection of tasty Cicchetti. This is a relaxing way to end a day of sightseeing with a local who will show you what being a Venetian all is about.
