Virtual Vacation: A Virtual Guided Exploration of Italy
You may not be able to travel to Italy right now, but with our Virtual Vacation collection you can take a virtual tour of Italy from the comfort of your own home.
Our collection of virtual Italy tours takes in Rome and Siena, and are led by our expert tour guides who provide a comprehensive overview of both of these magical locations – bringing the sights, sound and feel of these wonderful cities direct to your own home.
In Rome we visit some of the world’s most iconic landmarks including the Vatican, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.
Meanwhile in the more under-the-radar but equally incredible city of Siena we visit the Duomo di Siena, the Fonte Gaia, and Piazza del Campo.
Additionally, our virtual vacation includes an online cooking class with talented Italian cook Patrizia Malomo which will help you bring a true taste of Italy to your own home.
Rome Virtual Tours
First up is the ancient capital of Italy, Rome. The historic city is filled with wonder around every corner and has some of the world’s most iconic sights to see.
Our local expert guide will take you on an inspirational and informative exploration of the city’s most magical monuments, including the awe-inspiring Pantheon, an ancient Roman temple which is the most well-preserved building of Ancient Rome. We will also visit the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, where we can marvel at the artwork of Michelangelo, Da Vinci and other greats.
Siena Virtual Tours
Siena may not be as well-known a tourist destination as Rome, but the city in Italy’s Tuscany region has just as much history, culture and beauty to explore.
On our comprehensive virtual tour of Siena our expert local guide will bring the buzz of the main Piazza del Campo straight to your home, before embarking on an in-depth discovery of the city’s historic Duomo di Siena cathedral and taking in the majesty of the renaissance Fonte Gaia fountain.
Virtual Italian Cooking Class
Bring a taste of Italy to your home quite literally with our cookalong class. Our talented home chef Patrizia will guide you through creating two of her most favourite authentic Italian dishes – panzanella and pappa al pomodoro.
These dishes are both of Tuscan origin and are simple classic dishes which are popular in homes across the region.
Panzanella is a salad dish made of tomatoes and basil, while pappa al pomodoro is a soup dish but is enjoyed at a cool temperature rather than hot.
Cook along with us below and enjoy a real taste of Italy this year.
